Looking into the Kaleidoscope (New Art)

I remember being given kaleidoscopes as presents when I was a chid. Upon first turn, I would immediately start turning it faster and faster until I found the most pleasing arrangement of crystals. The kaleidoscope almost always had a sweet spot for me, the most beautiful arrangement of pattern and color, and I would search out that singular display every time I picked up the toy.

Similar to the way I have been working through my latest handful of abstract paintings. Arranging the most pleasing combination of pattern and color until I can feel that the composition is complete. The colors in this painting certainly reminded me of one of my childhood kaleidoscopes.

The color is vibrating as much as the crystals would dance inside that small cardboard tube! Hi, my name is Julie Prichard, and I am addicted to bright color. 😊
