A Cocktail Party

The painting pictured below is a "re-do" of a painting that I had finished a few weeks ago. As that painting hung on the wall, I felt more and more uncomfortable with it. I took it down one day, slathered black paint over the top portion and started a re-work.

I'm inspired by light and bright decor, natural light, colorful interiors, without whimsy.. I don't know..maybe I have not really zoned into a designer that I love, but I know that most of the time when I combine those attributes, what I get are sweet, interiors....whimpy. Maybe, light-bright-and-a-little-bit-punk-rock? I like things to make impact. I LOVE how this painting turned out.
