8 Great Paintings is my latest workshop. This workshop teaches students of all levels to make EIGHT fantastic fine art paintings. There are so many techniques covering a wide variety of art! Some things you'l learn: Composition, color selection, color mixing, shading, collage, transfers....you'll learn everything shown in the 8 samples in beautiful HD video footage! My video is professionally edited- this class has a run time of over FIVE HOURS! That's 5 action packed hours too...I edit for content. You won't be watching paint dry for 5 hours. It's all learning!

Students get access to the instructor every day- all questions will be answered within 24 hours of being posted (baring any sort of natural disaster or emergency), UNLIMITED video plays, NO TIME LIMITS! I'm here any time you want to upload pictures of your class lessons for feedback too! It's all included.

Over 3,017 SOLD....and still going strong! Can you imagine?? A couple of computers in the process....lots of software...camera upgrades...and a bigillion emails...and WOW.

Since January 1, we have had a rush of new students come into our online mixed media workshops. That's fine...

But I've received so many compliments...

Some say the classes are the best out there..

Others say they can't believe how much instruction they got for such a small price...

And then my favorite- you guys are so fast to respond! (Why? Because we respond to EVERY question in the network...always. We LOVE the internet.

Finally....some say they can't believe the quality of the video and editing.

Truth is...when I first started making online workshops, I knew I wanted them to be the same if not BETTER than an in person workshop. That meant I would have to be available for every student all the time...AND that I needed to teach myself all the latest editing tools...from scratch. Yah..it was hard..but now we know...all the hard work paid off. I would never imagine an online workshop coming any other way...

I am pleased to announce that I will be highlighting the art from numerous students who have taken workshops in the online teaching network that I run with Golden working artist Chris Cozen. Students were asked to submit their artwork from any of our workshops and the collection is nothing short of amazing. Every Friday I will highlight some of the art and provide you with a link to the artist so that you can visit their blogs too.

My hope is that this "open house" gallery tour will build new friendships and open dialogue all over the internets. Please visit the artists and leave a comment to let them know you where there!

I received the most awesome email from a teacher who I volunteer with every Thursday in Kate's art class:

"Dear Julie, I can’t thank you enough! I am sooo excited to do this with the kids. Also, I have to thank you. Just meeting you has inspired me to do my painting again. You are really something special! Thank you!!!!!"

No. Thank YOU. While speaking with the teacher about art journaling with the older children, I explained an idea for an "I Am" journal the kids could work on. instead of leaving it at that, I came home and whipped up a class sample for her to hopefully show the children. I guess she liked it. :) I'm sure I will have tears of happiness in my eyes when I see the journals start coming to life. What a thrill.

Mucho Catching Up...

Hello- welcome to the Land of Lost Luggage...where I was lost for a while, but now I am back. I've wrapped up my new online workshop that will be starting on October 1st. October 1st, already? Time flies. I am really happy with this workshop...I love the footage and the course materials. I hope you will come by on October 1st to read all about it. Mucho Metallics will have something for everyone.

I'm celebrating my first month down wearing braces. Hopefully I only have 11 more months to go. I am seeing a lot of movement in my teeth and my jaw pain is gone. GONE. Eating with the braces on my teeth is sometimes challenging, specifically keeping everything clean if I am not at home, but it's worth it. I've adapted my diet (and even lost 8 pounds without trying) and am enjoying it. My diet? Oh..mostly green smoothies....yah...not the candy type. I CRAVE vegetables now. I can't believe it, the body is an amazing machine.

Thanks for stopping by today. I am going to take time to enjoy the holiday season and make art for myself (the book is done too...have you seen it on Amazon yet?) and get re-inspired. I love making online classes and especially talking with students in the network...but I feel like after all the creativity of writing and filming a class comes out, I am a little spent. It all comes back though...I wouldn't have it any other way. More frequent blog posts in October. Seriously. Hope to see you again.

The Mixed Media Television Show...

I was cleaning up some computer files on my desk, and I came across my preliminary notes for my online mixed media workshop written back in April, "The Mixed Media Variety Hour With Your Host Julie Prichard" workshop:

Initially, I was going to name the class "Mixed Media Cross Training". I felt that there was a market for a class that featured more than one idea. A variety hour type format...that's when the Mixed Media Variety Hour was born. It's a cross between a regular workshop and reality TV.

This class is not an hour long. I love every minute of this one. It's my pride and joy. I worked hard with my video producer to make sure that we left the studio and got our and about in the city. Have you seen the promo video yet?
